Spring Day in Europe (2005) Engur Secondary School began to celebrate Spring Day in Europe on March 7 when where was still snow and frost outside.
Junior classes read the fairy tales of H.C.Andersen, looking for common European values and found a lot of surprising coincidences :Year 3a discovered that the number of brave tin soldiers is 25, the same as they in the class.There are 25 countries in the EU. Life will be happy if everybody possesses a good heart, tolerant and ready to help.Happiness comes hand in hand with understanding and love.

Senior pupils studied human rights ensured by Constitution, evaluated their role in the daily life. In a roleplay situation when flying in a hot-air balloon you have to discard the rights one by one ,one of the groups kept freedom as the last, the other group - human rights...
Communicating with pupils from Slovenia , Ireland and Sweden on the internet our pupils compared everyday routine at school in these countries. Posters prepared as examples arosed great interest. .
Next group reported about the importance of rules. Can we do without them in family, sports, society and transport? We start in a family and gradually come to the constitution.
ECulmination of European Week was meeting MEP Valdis Dombrovskis who came to visit Engure Secondary school on March 11. He gave a lesson in European study - explaining the work of European institutions in Brussels and Strasbourg. His formula of success shared with pupils was laconic ;"You should study! Secondary school is not enough. You have to go farther and study in university although other roads seem more profitable."
