Tidying Up of the Forest (2005)

    On Friday, September 30 our pupils of Years 4 and 10 took part in the joint work organized by share-holders company „Latvijas Valsts Meži“ to clean the forest. The Prime Minister A.Kalvitis, ministers E.Jēkabsons, R.Vējonis, A.Baštiks and pupils worked shoulder to shoulder.The Cūkmens (Pigman), a character symbolizing man-produced garbage,wanted to stop or at least hamper the good work, but musicians led by Roberts Gobziņš helped to sustain a good mood.
    Everything was filmed by TV journalists and was the news of the evening.
After finishing the work everybody felt hungry and the well-known company "Lido" had laid the table with many delicious things. A snack in the open air tasted fine. 
   All the participants joined their voices singing the song of this joint work campaign "Don`t Leave Your Garbage in the Wood".
